2019 Priest Ranch Petite Sirah
WINEMAKING
The 2019 vintage of Priest Ranch Petite Sirah was aged 26 months in 50% new french oak and 50% once used french oak. With only 111 cases of this wine produced, this winery exclusive wine is one you will want to stock up on for summer barbecues and winter stews. The full-bodied wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered.
HARVEST NOTES
The beginning of the 2019 growing season was defined by copious rainfall and late soil moisture, followed by a warm summer. We saw very few extreme heat events, with foggy mornings setting the stage for vibrant and expressive wines. The long, relatively mild finish to the season helps to preserve freshness and finesse in the fruit with sufficient hang time teasing out a great color, structure, and soft tannins.

Tasting Notes
The 2019 Block 126 Petite Sirah exudes lively aromas of black cherry, blueberries, and earl grey tea that flow out of the glass leading to flavors of cocoa, dried herbs, and cracked black pepper. This Petite Sirah is smooth on the palate with silky and velvety tannins and a generous lengthy finish, encouraging you to enjoy it now but has the depth to be enjoyed for many years.
Vineyard Notes
Priest Ranch wines are all estate grown and bottled from the historic 660-acre Priest Ranch portion of the Somerston Estate. In 2019, we harvested the fruit for this wine from our newest block of Petite Sirah on the western side of the property.
