The Estate
Farming the estate and its unique vineyard blocks is the passion of our team. With each vintage, the best sites from the estate are selected to produce limited production vineyard designate wines. Our focus is to produce a world class single block Cabernet Sauvignon that reflects the unique nature of each vineyard site.
Jake Knobloch, Director of Vineyard OperationsThe future of Somerston depends on how we honor what’s already here — the soil, the silence, and the life between the vines.

Everest Vineyard
At Somerston Estate, our red wines are born from the heart of the land — steep, rocky hillsides where bold red varietals thrive at elevations up to 1,615 feet. Each vintage begins long before harvest, with an intimate understanding of the estate’s many vineyard blocks. From these, only the most expressive sites are chosen to create our limited-production, single-block wines.
Farming is done with precision and patience, allowing the fruit to reflect its true character. In the cellar, restraint is our greatest tool. Every decision is guided by respect for what the vineyard has already achieved — minimal intervention, careful observation, and time. The result a red wine that speaks clearly of its origin: wines of depth and tension, purity and purpose.
Each bottle represents more than craftsmanship — it reflects the land itself, shaped by wind, soil, and the hands that tend it. Our small production ensures absolute control from vine to barrel, preserving the integrity of every vineyard block and every vintage.
Gauntlet Vineyard
The white wines of Somerston Estate capture the rare elegance of our eastern Napa Valley terrain. Sourced from select vineyard blocks at the lower elevations, the fruit develops slowly, retaining vibrant acidity and minerality that define the character of our estate.
Our approach is one of quiet precision — farming to achieve balance in the vineyard so that the wines require little intervention in the winery. Every detail, from canopy management to harvest timing, is guided by the philosophy that less is more. The purity of the fruit allows the finished wine to express texture, nuance, and a sense of place that can only come from Somerston Estate.
Produced in small quantities, our white wines are as much about restraint as refinement. Each vintage reveals the landscape in its truest form — complex yet graceful, layered yet pure. They are wines that invite contemplation, embodying our belief that authenticity is the ultimate expression of luxury.
Craig Becker, Co-Founder & Founding Winemaker“There also are a lot of self-styled ‘sustainable’ wineries and vineyards that are not environmentally friendly. Every element of our winery has been designed with a purpose, and that purpose is to be truly sustainable.”
